At Polestar CM Inc. our PMP certified construction managers are trained to ensure that construction projects proceed efficiently through all phases of development. Our professional staff have the knowledge and experience to maximize project deliverables for each of our clients.

We provide a full spectrum of construction management services: project coordination, site supervision, enforcing safety policies and practices, develop work breakdown packages (scopes of work), pre-qualification of Trade Contractors, tendering process, project schedules, quality assurance, budgets, cost controlling and close-out documentation.

Professional Quantity Surveying

At Polestar CM Inc. our Professional Quantity Surveyors are PQS certified individuals capable of performing industry leading cost analyses. We maintain a high level of communication with clients throughout the project life cycle.

We provide the following quantity surveying services: payment certifications, bank reports, cost estimates, value engineering, schedule of quantities, life-cycle cost analysis, arbitration, and expert witness testimony.

Bank Audits/ Project Monitoring

Our PQS certified Professional Quantity Surveyors work directly with financial institutions and lenders to varify monthly project funding applications and identify variations from original project budget. We have provided Bank Audit / Project Monitoring services in throughout Greater Sudbury, North Bay, Parry Sound, Hearst, and Moosonee.

Financial Institutions that we have provided these services for include: TD Financial Group, Royal Bank, Peoples’ Trust, Business Development Bank of Canada.

Site Supervision

Once our Superintendents are assigned to a project, they execute the full scope from tender to completion. This provides owners, consultants and subcontractors with a single point of contact throughout the life of the project. This relationship establishes a foundation of communication, simplifies decisions and ensures accountability on behalf of Polestar CM Inc.

All of our Superintendents are responsible for each aspect of construction including: client relations, site safety, planning, scheduling, risk assessment, quality control, supplier and subcontractor coordination, purchasing, supervision, layout and contract administration.

Project Management

Polestar CM Inc. greatest assist is our employees. In order to offer the highest quality project management services in the industry we continually train and educate each employee annually. All of our Project Managers are PMP certified through the Project Managment Institution (PMI), and have the technical knowledge to execute project deliverables within a dynamic project team.

Project Management services we provide include: owner representation, funding applications, project oversight and client consultation.

Site Safety Auditing

We believe in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment directly relates to increased productivity. Polestar CM will not compromise the health or safety of any personnel involved in our projects. Our proactive approach to safety allows us to identify, mitigate or eliminate workplace health and safety hazards before they become issues.

The Health and Safety services we provide are tailored to educate companies and the workforce on safety throughout the construction process:

  • Contractor Safety Management through regular site inspections for project safety compliance in accordance with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Provide organizations with the expertise, experience and assistance to meet Occupational Health and Safety requirements though company policy and consultation.
  • Safety audits for health and safety compliance according to the Ontario Health and Safety Association (OHSA). Polestar CM tracks and maintains project safety statistics for both Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Overall lost-time frequency Rate (LTFR) monthly through our comprehensive health and safety compliance reports.
  • Development and implementation of Site Specific Safety Management Plans and Pre-Project Hazard Assessments

Building Condition Assessments

Polestar CM Inc. has the resources to conduct building assessment investigations and produce a comprehensive report outlining the overall building condition. Outlined in these reports are recommendations for maintenance and building upgrade options.
